All STARS

Stratford Animal Control has a group of volunteers called the Stratford Animal Rescue Society (STARS). STARS is a Not-For-Profit Volunteer Organization, founded in September 2000, with the unanimous support of the Stratford Town Council to promote the cause of animal welfare for animals housed in the Stratford Town Animal Shelter. Their primary purpose is to facilitate and expedite adoptions of shelter dogs and cats into loving homes. In addition, they raise funds through private donations and public fundraisers to provide veterinarian services for animals with special medical needs.

How to join

All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, attend a 2 hour orientation and complete 12 Hours of training.  For information about The Stratford Animal Rescue Society and learn how to become a volunteer, please contact STARS.
