Community Development

The Department of Community Development is responsible for securing, implementing and managing the Community Development Block Grant Funds that the Town receives from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The Town receives an annual entitlement from HUD of approximately $500,000 and begins its planning process for its Annual Action Plan in December. The Town's program year begins on July 1st and runs through June 30th. The Office also serves as the Fair Housing Office for the Town of Stratford and provides information to tenants, landlords, homebuyers, prospective tenants and homebuyers, and others about their rights and responsibilities in the lease or purchase of housing.
