Late Payments/Lost Tickets

  1. ONLINE PAYMENTS:
    • Tickets may also be paid online at www.parkingticketpayment.com/stratford .
    • There is currently a $3.50 convenience fee per ticket. The vehicle’s state, license plate, and one unpaid ticket number must be provided.

  2. BY MAIL - Check or Money Order:
    • Payable only to TOWN OF STRATFORD and mail only railroad tickets payments to:

      P.O. BOX 150479
      HARTFORD, CT 06115-0479

    • Using any other payee or address for railroad ticket payments by mail will cause the payment to be rejected and cause the ticket amount to double or triple.
    • Railroad tickets and police tickets cannot be paid with the same check or money order.

  3. IN-PERSON: Cash or money order
    • Correct change required for cash payments. Railroad and police tickets may be paid in person only at the Stratford Police Department, 900 Longbrook Avenue, Stratford, CT 06614. If not paying with cash, police and railroad tickets must be paid with a separate check/money order.

  4. All non-permit holders should email [email protected] concerning railroad tickets.  Permit holders should email [email protected].

  5. Late Penalty Fee and Schedule
    Full payment of the original fine must be received within seventeen (17) calendar days, including the ticket issue date, or fee doubles on 18th day. Fee/fine triples on the 30th calendar day, including ticket issue date, if any unpaid balance remains.  No exception for travel, postmarks, weekends, or holidays.

  6. LOST/MISPLACED TICKETS
  7. There may be inadvertent occasions where a ticket is blown off or otherwise removed from a vehicle after it is issued. You are still responsible for paying the ticket. If you park, you pay. Full payment must be received within seventeen (17) calendar days, including the ticket issue date, or fee doubles on the 18th day. Fee/fine triples on the 30th calendar day, including ticket issue date, if any unpaid balance remains. No exception for travel, postmarks, weekends, or holidays..
  8. If you park in a daily parking space without paying at a pay station, or through Parkmobile, assume a $10 fine was issued. To confirm the ticket number and amount of the fine or fee, send your state and plate number within 72 hours of the date you parked to [email protected].
  9. If you park in permit parking without having a parking permit (neither the daily parking receipt, or your Parkmobile receipt, is a parking permit) or otherwise park improperly, assume a $25 ticket was issued. To confirm the ticket number and amount of the fine or fee, send your state and plate number within 72 hours of the date you parked to [email protected].
  10. If your email inquiry about a lost/misplaced ticket is not received within 72 hours, full payment of the fine and/or penalty is required.

Permit Parking Violations

"B" PERMIT ZONE VIOLATIONS: 6 AM to 12 Noon. $25 fine + possible towing. 

  1. Vehicles parked in any “B” space on either side of the tracks must be registered on a “B” permit
  2. All spaces in SRRP lots, with the exception of those marked as daily, handicapped, restaurant or coffee shop, Museum (May 1st - October 31st), or Police are reserved for permit holders. The $25 permit zone violation doubles to $50.00 if full payment is not received within seventeen (17) calendar days, including ticket issue date. It triples to $75 on the 30th calendar day, including the ticket issue date, if any unpaid balance remains.  No exception for travel, postmarks, weekends, or holidays.
  3. All who use SRRP must park properly in designated spaces only – between the lines, not on or over the lines, not parked in any area with diagonal lines or marked as no parking, not in traffic lanes, not in a no parking/no standing area. Those who violate the above are subject to a $25 fine, revocation of permit, and/or towing of the vehicle at owner’s risk and expense with no additional notice.

K” PERMIT ZONE VIOLATIONS: 24/7. $25 fine + towing

  1. Any vehicle parked in a “K” space without being registered on a “K” permit will be given a $25 ticket and possibly towed at the registered owner’s risk and expense without additional notice. “K” space violations double if full payment is not received within seventeen (17) calendar days, including ticket issue date.  No exception for travel, postmarks, weekends, or holidays.
  2. All who use SRRP must park properly in designated spaces only – between the lines, not on or over the lines, not parked in any area with diagonal lines or marked as no parking, not in traffic lanes, not in a no parking/no standing area. Those who violate the above are subject to a $25 fine, revocation of permit, and/or towing of the vehicle at owner’s risk and expense with no additional notice.

CONSEQUENCES OF FAILURE TO PAY PARKING FEES OR VIOLATIONS

  1. If you have more than five tickets of any kind with an outstanding balance of original fees and/or late fees, the DMV will be notified and you will be prevented from renewing any of your vehicle registrations until payment of all balance on all your vehicles is received.
  2. Your vehicle may be immobilized or impounded at your risk and expense without additional notice.
  3. No permit is sold to any individual who has an unpaid ticket balance on any vehicle associated with their name and/or address.
