Tax Collector's Office
The Tax Collector's Office provides billing and collection of real estate, personal property, and motor vehicle taxes; sewer use charges and special assessment billings. The Tax Office is also responsible for processing all town revenue. Taxes are collected semi-annually on real estate, motor vehicles, personal property and residential and commercial sewer use.

Notice is hereby given that the First Installments of Real Estate, Personal Property and Motor Vehicle Taxes AND Sewer Usage Charges on the Grand List of October 1, 2021 are due and payable on July 1, 2022. The last day to pay without penalty is Monday, August 1, 2022. Tax Bills $100.00 or less are due in full on 7/1/2022.

If a receipt is required, mail the entire three-part bill and a self addressed stamped envelope with your payment.
In-person payments are accepted at the Tax Collector’s Office, located at Town Hall 2725 Main Street, Stratford, CT, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM and on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. Bring your entire bill with you.
From July 1, 2022 through August 1, 2022, payments may also be made at Stratford branches of Peoples United Bank. You MUST have the ORIGINAL bill in order to pay at the Bank.
Payments may also be made ONLINE via ACH, Credit or Debit Card, PayPal, Google Pay and Apple Pay at www.stratfordct.gov Additional fees apply.
Failure to make payment in person by August 1, 2022; by mail bearing a USPS Postmark dated no later than August 1, 2022; or online no later than August 1, 2022 will result in interest being charged at a rate of 1½ percent per month, with a $2.00 minimum, from the due date of the tax, as required by Conn. State Statute 12-130, 12-145 and 12-146. Mail bearing no postmark is considered late, unless received on or before August 1, 2022. Failure to receive a bill does not exempt the taxpayer from payment of tax or interest, collection costs and fees that may come due, per Conn. State Statute 12-130.
