Rechargeable vs Non-Rechargeable
Please be aware of how to dispose properly of your batteries at home.
- Alkaline batteries (not rechargeable; commonly used in radios and toys) can be put in the trash.
- Rechargeable batteries contain hazardous chemicals that can pollute soil and groundwater, and they should NOT be put in trash. Places that accept rechargeable batteries for recycling can be located by calling 1-800-822-8837.
