Beach Wheelchairs
The Town of Stratford has two Rover wheelchairs for use in the water and on the beach at Short Beach Park. The chairs are available for adults and children. Another adult over the age of 18 years old must accompany individuals while using the wheelchair. They are canvas and stainless steel and an umbrella is advisable. They are to be used on the deck and the sand and may go into the water up to the middle of the wheel.

THE WHEELCHAIRS ARE AVAILABLE FOR USE BY ANY INDIVIDUAL WITH MOBILITY IMPAIRMENT. Individuals must reserve the chair at least 24 hours in advance. The chairs may be reserved between the hours of 10:00am-4:30pm at Short Beach only. They are available June 18 through Labor Day. Individuals may reserve the chairs through the Recreation Department Office by calling (203) 385-4052 at least 24 hours in advance.
