Christopher J. Pia – Chairman, Stratford Town Council
Born and raised in Stratford, Connecticut, and a graduate of St. Mark grammar school and St. Joseph High School, Christopher J. Pia earned the rank of Eagle Scout from local Boy Scout Troop 72. He graduated Quinnipiac University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management. Upon completion of college, he moved back home to Stratford and started his own business in the financial services industry.
Since 2009, he has continued to grow his business and served as the President of CT NAIFA (National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors). At the same time, he continues to dedicate countless hours back to his community. He served and volunteered on numerous boards, commissions and committees while having the honor of serving as the Past President of the Stratford Rotary club from 2012 – 2013.
Chris also became very involved with the local Stratford Chamber of Commerce and the BRBC. Having graduated from the BRBC Leadership Greater Bridgeport program to continuously being an active member and board member, he has served as the Chairman of the Stratford Chamber of Commerce from 2017-2020.
In November of 2017 Chris ran for public office for the first time and was elected to serve as Stratford’s 1st District Councilman. In 2019 he was re-elected, and was additionally selected by the Council to serve as Town Council Chairman. In 2021 he was elected to a third term as Council member and second term as Chairman. He continues to be honored to serve the people of the Town of Stratford and the 1st District.
