LATE PAYMENTS

  1. ONLINE PAYMENTS:

    • Tickets may also be paid online at https://stratfordct.rmcpay.com .

    • There is an Appeal button in the citation results window for each ticket.

    • There is currently a $3.95 convenience fee per ticket.  One unpaid ticket number or the vehicle’s state and license plate number must be provided.

  2. BY MAIL - Check or Money Order:

    • 1 – Railroad ticket type & “R” Violation Code.

    • Payable only to TOWN OF STRATFORD and mail only railroad ticket payments to:

      • PO BOX 150479

      • HARTFORD, CT 06115-0479

    • Enclose a legible copy of ticket with payment correct and timely processing.

    • Using any other payee or address for railroad ticket payments by mail will cause the payment to be rejected and cause the ticket amount to double or triple.

    • Railroad tickets and police tickets cannot be paid with the same check or money order.

  3. SRRP commuters and permit holders should email railroad@townofstratford.com regarding all “R” Violation Code and/or 1 – Railroad type tickets. 

  4. Late Penalty Fee and Schedule

    • Ticket issue date is day one (1).

    • Full payment of the original fine must be received within seventeen (17) calendar days, including the ticket issue date.

    • Fee or fine increases on 18th day.

    • Fee/fine increases on the 30th calendar day, including ticket issue date, if any unpaid balance remains.

    • No exceptions for travel, postmarks, weekends, or holidays.

LOST/MISPLACED TICKETS

  1. There may be inadvertent occasions where a ticket is blown off or otherwise removed from a vehicle after it is issued.  You are still responsible for paying the ticket.  If you park, you pay.  Full payment must be received within seventeen (17) calendar days, including the ticket issue date, or fee doubles on 18th day.  Fee/fine triples on the 30th calendar day, including ticket issue date, if any unpaid balance remains.  No exception for travel, postmarks, weekends, or holidays.

  2. If you park in a daily parking space without paying at a pay station or through Parkmobile, assume a $10 fine was issued.  To confirm the ticket number and amount of the fine or fee, send your state and plate number within 72 hours of the date you parked to railroad@townofstratford.com .

  3. If you park in permit parking without having a parking permit (neither the daily parking receipt or your Parkmobile receipt is a parking permit) or otherwise park improperly, assume a $25 fine was issued.  To confirm the ticket number and amount of the fine or fee, send your state and plate number within 72 hours of the date you parked to railroad@townofstratford.com .

  4. K spaces are never free - $25 fine + towing without additional notice 24/7. 

  5. R spaces are reserved for restaurant use 24/7 with a 2-hour limit - $25 fine + possible towing without additional notice. 

  6. Only daily parking (numbered) and B spaces are free between the weekday hours of 12:01 PM and 5:30 AM the following weekday morning, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays, and Town holidays.

  7. If your email inquiry about a lost/misplaced ticket is not received within 72 hours, full payment of the fine and/or penalty is required.
