Cooling Center Protocol in Effect

Stratford, CT – June 23, 2025 – Due to the extreme heat forecasted over the next several days, the Town of Stratford has activated its Cooling Center Protocol, effective immediately through 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Residents, especially those who are elderly, have underlying health conditions, or are otherwise vulnerable, are strongly advised to take precautions and make use of the cooling centers available throughout town.

For Overnight and Long-Term Sheltering: Residents in need of overnight or extended sheltering should contact the 211 System by dialing 2-1-1 for assistance.

A list of active cooling centers is maintained and updated on the State of Connecticut WEBEOC website.

  • Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Closed on Weekends

Stratford Library

  • Monday–Thursday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

  • Friday–Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Closed Sundays through October

Stratford YMCA

  • Monday–Thursday: 5:30 AM – 9:00 PM

  • Friday: 5:30 AM – 7:00 PM

  • Saturday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
